Program Overview

Who we serve?

At AEC, we are dedicated to serving children who require special support due to learning disabilities or other unique needs. Our team is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential. We understand the importance of individualized attention and strive to create a personalized learning experience for each and every student

Education Goals

  1. Confidence Building: Foster a nurturing and supportive environment where students feel valued, encouraged, and empowered to take ownership of their learning journey, building confidence and self-esteem.

  2. Scaffolded Learning: Provide scaffolded support and differentiated instruction to scaffold students' learning, breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and gradually increasing independence as skills develop.

  3. Tutoring and Extra Help: Offer dedicated tutoring sessions, study groups, and one-on-one support to provide additional assistance and reinforcement for students struggling with specific academic areas or concepts.

  4. Academic Accommodations: Implement a range of academic accommodations, such as extended time on assignments and assessments, preferential seating, modified assignments, and assistive technology, to ensure equitable access to learning opportunities for all students.

  5. Targeted Intervention Programs: Design and implement targeted intervention programs focusing on literacy, numeracy, executive functioning skills, and other areas of need identified through ongoing assessment and monitoring.

  6. Progress Monitoring and Feedback: Regularly monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and caregivers to track growth, celebrate achievements, and identify areas for improvement.

  7. Social and Emotional Support: Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives and counseling services to support students' social and emotional well-being, teaching coping strategies, self-regulation techniques, and fostering positive peer relationships.

  8. Transition Planning: Collaborate with families, caregivers, and external agencies to develop transition plans that prepare students for successful transitions to mainstream academic settings, vocational training programs, or post-secondary education options.
